  5. What's this?
  6. PowerSMS sends SMS's (Short Message Service) through the http://www.mtnsms.com webpage. This program has several advantages over the webpage though:
  7. * Ability to send a message to multiple recipients.
  8. * PowerSMS has an outbox to keep track of sent messages.
  9. * PowerSMS has a phone book.

  11. Quick Start
  12. 1. Register with Mtnsms. If you're going to use PowerSMS's signature option, set the Mtnsms signature to something short, like '@'.
  13. 2. Enter your Mtnsms details (e-mail and password) in the preferences.
  14. 3. Add friend(s) to your phonebook.
  15. 4. Select "New Message".
  16. 5. Type your message in the window that appears and select recipients.
  17. 6. Click "Send".
  18. 7. After the SMS has been sent, a window telling you the status of the messages will appear.

  20. Hints
  21. * Enter the phone numbers with a country code, such as +46703514573. To make this easier, use the auto-fill option.
  22. * Double click an entry in the phonebook to edit it.
  23. * You can resize the fields in the Outbox by grabbing the bar between them (although the cursor doesn't change).
  24. * Send messages with Enter (not return). In future versions you'll be able to choose which key(s) to use.

  26. What to be included in future versions
  27. - Ability to send messages to multiple groups.
  28. - Proxy support
  29. - An option to have PowerSMS send you a SMS when you get new e-mail.
  30. - Auto-scroll to the latest entry in the Outbox when you send a new SMS.
  31. - Support for additional SMS gateways.

  33. Known bugs/limitations
  34. - You can only send SMS's to networks supported by mtnsms. See their page to see which ones they support.
  35. - If you're connected to the Internet through a proxy server, PowerSMS does not work.
  36. - The groups aren't sorted alphabetically, they are listed in the order you added them.
  37. - Dates are sorted incorrectly if you have set your Date and Time control panel to "wrong" format.
  38. - Occasionally, international characters appear as triangles in the mobile phone.

  40. Registering
  41. This program is Shareware, which means that if you use it, you must pay for it.
  42. The pricing of PowerSMS is as follows:
  43. 1-9 licences: USD 15 each
  44. 10+ licences: USD 10 each

  46. To register, start the Register application bundled with PowerSMS. Enter your name and e-mail address, select how many copies you'd like to purchase and select a payment method.
  47. Payments are made to Kagi Shareware, who will e-mail you the registration code(s) as soon as your payment is recieved.

  49. When you've recieved your registration code, within PowerSMS, select "Register" from the Apple menu and enter your name and code. Thanks for registering!
